Our company
Geomatys is an IT development company specializing in spatial information processing. Facilitating access to geospatial BigData to improve decision-making and risk is at the heart of our business.
Since its creation in 2005, the company has been involved in many open-source projects. Our services are based on open-source libraries, some of which have been developed in part by Geomatys (such as Apache-SIS).
We have leveraged our expertise to create an open-source software platform : Examind Community (formerly Constellation-SDI). Fully mastered and interoperable, it complies with industry standards.
In recent years, the growing maturity of the platform has led us to develop a range of proprietary products: The Examind Software suite. This is based on the same open-source foundation, and also offers additional proprietary functionalities (Examind Datacube, Examind SDK, etc.).
Our mastery of the entire software base means that Geomatys’ teams can create and deploy custom solutions from A to Z, and to innovate in response to all types of new and complex problems.
Since 2022, Geomatys has begun developing domain-specific Software-as-a-Service solutions, deployed by implementing our software base and expertise, often in partnership with key stakeholders for identifying industry needs and best-in-class methodologies.x
Our values
Interoperability: Geomatys is involved in the evolution of international data standards. We participate in every OGC meeting and in several data standardization groups. In addition, Martin Desruisseaux, chairman of the OGC GeoAPI standard, brings Geomatys’ values to the heart of the standardization process. As a result, the solutions we develop benefit from the latest standard developments. They are therefore highly interoperable, and naturally comply with OGC, ISO and Inspire standards. Standards are crucial to the openness and scalability of spatial information systems.
Innovation: At Geomatys, innovation means thinking ahead about tomorrow’s problems, and offering the right tools to meet the needs of today’s customers. This is why, since its creation, the company has invested 20% to 30% of its sales back into Research and Development. This R&D effort enables Geomatys to offer a complete range of in-house tools. Full mastery of the entire development chain guarantees our ability to meet all spatial data manipulation requirements and the quality of the end result.
Ergonomics and user experience: All Geomatys applications are designed with simplicity of use in mind. Each interface is designed in collaboration with the end user via Agile development methods. As a result, the software offers instinctive navigation, letting the user concentrate on what’s essential: seamlessly processing and leveraging geospatial data. Geomatys’ applications are increasingly intuitive and accessible, and benefit from an ever-increasing wealth of functions.
Quality control: Geomatys focuses its product development on the user, where interaction and exchange is paramount. This is why projects are developed using the Agile method. This ensures that projects are carried out successfully and that they meet customer needs.
