The interactions between humans and their environment lead to an increase in the number of natural disasters (floods, forest fires, landslides…). In order to protect the infrastructure and the population, it is necessary to be able to monitor risk areas.
The GIS use makes it possible to follow the evolution of the environment and to prevent risks of natural disasters. Anticipation limits the impact on people and infrastructure.
In this context, Geomatys has designed a Geographical Information System for dikes management on behalf of France Digues association. The application allows data collection, storage, analysis and exchange between different dike managers. The solution consists of a desktop application for advanced management and a mobile tool for field actions, available online and offline.
Geomatys is leading DIDRO project, whose objective is to propose a service of DIkes inspection by DROnes. In this context, Geomatys is developing the infrastructure for collecting and processing Big Data from heterogeneous sources.
The service is expected towards 2019!
On behalf of Selerys, Geomatys participated in the development of the Skydetect solution. This can detect the risk of hail through real-time monitoring of storm cells.
The Litto CMS Collaborative Project is also part of environmental monitoring. The developed platform deals with marine submersion models over a very large volume of time-constrained data on an HPC cluster. Thus, Litto CMS allows crises management related to floods and marine submersion in real time. Geomatys has implemented the platform providing OGC Web Services through Examind Community.
GroundWaterML is another monitoring project that Geomatys has been involved in. It consists of the OGC standard GWML2 implementation to unify groundwater management. Geomatys has implemented an international data exchange flow WFS 2.0 for groundwater, compliant with GroundWaterML standard.
